2025 Year-End Impact Summary

Providing clean water, sanitation, and sustainable livelihoods for Aeta communities in the Philippines.

A Challenging Year

In 2025, donations declined while the Philippines faced 25 typhoons—well above the seasonal average. Rising construction costs and weather-related delays impacted several projects, with materials often damaged by heavy rains. Despite these challenges, the Foundation continued to serve Aeta communities through direct humanitarian support and long-term development.

Water Buffalo Program

Since 2015, the Foundation has distributed water buffaloes to improve nutrition, agricultural productivity, and income for Aeta villages. Buffalo milk supports child health, while increased farm output helps feed families and generate income.

After lessons learned during the pandemic, the program evolved. Caretakers now keep the mother buffalo while calves are raffled to other families—allowing the herd to grow sustainably. In 2026, buffalo distribution will resume with this improved model.

Clean Water & Sanitation

Following the pandemic, 19 remote Aeta villages were identified without access to clean water or toilet facilities. These conditions contributed to stunted growth and health risks, especially among children.

To date, 17 villages now have complete water systems and sanitation facilities, eliminating open defecation. Two remaining villages are extremely remote and currently receive water containers, agricultural tools, and seeds until full systems can be safely installed.
